PEARLYN WRITES.

hello.

ah yes. am entirely excited because i find myself being surrounded by LOCAL CELEBS these days.

i hope you know im being a tad sarcastic. it's not exactly like i've been having tea with prince harry or anybody.

but i WAS utterly close to this mediacorp woman, not very famous but famous enough for me to RECOGNIZE her. she was looking around hopefully in the restaurant we were in, but nobody actually approached her. and my family, we eat like wolves, so no surprise that food was our priority. my dear sibling was feeling kind, wanted to ask that actress to help us take a family photo, but we thought that she might feel even worse about herself, because we are reducing her from an actress to a photographer.

today was leandra's surprise party. we BRAVED the DREADFUL STORM, leaped over whirling puddles and burbling mud, all for the sake of leandra chee, to celebrate her 18th year of life. or 17th and a few hundred days, because her actual birthday is...sometime between now and christmas.

leandra took about 50 years to come downstairs from her room, making me wonder if her room is really located in vladivostok. but she came down anyway. i think we sang something, and her grandmother looked pained upon hearing my voice attempt actual singing.

samantha and i ate the most, no surprise there. scroll your eyeballs to the right and you might see the disclaimer, that we live to eat. i think samantha and i, between ourselves, we had about 13 plates of pasta and about 5 slices of pizza, and of course there were those chips and dessert and cake and the fries that we got earlier. and i had an amazing lunch before that. stomach is round no doubt, like a beach ball.

am still utterly flabbergasted that atleti actually survived playing getafe, getafe was so close to equalizing. was not really paying attention to the match, because i did not watch it live and i already knew the score, was too relieved to entirely focus. but i did notice that that old man aguirre is starting to believe in my thoughts, that aguero and fer worked better, therefore he is starting to actually start with both of them, but because aguero is so young like a green shoot, he cannot play a full match, and that is where mista comes in. mista got into a tiny scuffle at the end of the match, grabbed an opponent's throat, will give him the benefit of the doubt because he is an atleti player, he was perhaps doing research on the size of an average spaniard's adam's apple.

atleti is, SHUDDER, playing BARCA on the 21st, am already starting to pace about in anxiety. they play in the nou camp, which is equivalent, to me, to a cheetah's habitat, and atleti, being fully vulnerable and fragile and to put it brutally, NOT VERY GOOD, might just flop. however, atleti has a good record against barca. pundits of course think that atleti would probably keep up with that record, for they WERE the first team last season to win at the nou camp. dont know if they were the only team to do so last season, but whatever it was, i could not sleep for a WEEK because i was so appalled.

and fernando always had an interesting record against barca, it's like puyol's hair starts to retard his movements whenever fernando is around, either that or puyol is just overwhelmed by fernando's dashing and ravishing beauty that has so captured the hearts of so many young AND old women all over the world (i will never forget the conversation i had with my uncle's friend's mother, that kinky spanish old lady, her eyes were glinting with an inner evil when i informed her that fernando was my favourite player. he was about 19 then, and she was about 72).

not very hopeful that atleti will do good against barca, even though the past 4 matches played against barca all ended in wins or draws for atleti with fer scoring once or twice against them for each match. for one thing, fernando has been very monotonous all season, it's like he's on strike against football when you look at his goal-scoring record. however in the matches ive seen of him this season, i realize that he's becoming more and more like a team player, which comes with a sense of maturity and ageing ever since he became captain after that aguilera left. before that he depended fully on the midfield for passes and crosses, and defenders mark him down a lot less. but he's got a lot more publicity now, people watch him more, and fer has been working hard on providing brilliant crosses to galleti or aguero or maniche, whoever happens to be there, so the burden of scoring goals isnt fully on him anymore. THAT is why he hasnt been scoring much.

i think i like him more this way. the other change i observed of him is that he's falling down a lot more, and my theory, at first glance, makes little sense, but upon deeper thought, it might explain a lot. fernando has been growing very much, and he has gotten much taller and heavier than when he first started out, will show you pictures in a bit. for that reason, with all that extra height and weight, he understandably would not be able to control his limbs as well as he could in the time before, and being so tall he would not be able to see his legs as before, which explains why he keeps tripping over the ball and over imaginary things and over his own feet. it is quite tragic sometimes of course, because the opponent next to him would be blamed for tripping him, when i admit sometimes fernando trips over thin air.

this is the drastic change of fernando, from BOY to MAN:

well. pretty sure he got blown away by the wind after the picture was taken.

now. he is big enough to carry an actual MAN. not just any man either. it is aguero he is carrying, and aguero himself is quite a block of muscles as well. dont know what aguero is doing with that dodgy headband. on second thought it might be ze castro, whos always got a white headband on. must be some cult they both belong to.

anyway. atleti plays barca on thursday, they'd definitely show it here, will have to find some way to wake up for it. it had better be at a decent time if barca is serious about luring asian fans.

ok that's enough for tonight. good night world.

signed,

sincerely, me
